Ingredients
Cookie Base
- 2.5 cups all-purpose flour
- 0.5 teaspoon baking powder
- 0.25 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened Provides flavor and richness

Instructions
Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add the egg, vanilla extract, and butterscotch flavoring, mixing until well combined.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until a dough forms.
- Roll the dough into balls and flatten them slightly.
- Place a few colored candy melts in the center of each flattened ball and seal the dough around them.
- Place the cookies on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Baking
- Bake for 10-12 minutes.
- Once cooled, decorate with royal icing to resemble the Sorting Hat.
