1/2teaspoonItalian seasoning
1packet (1 oz.)Ranch seasoning mix
1tablespoonFresh parsley, to garnish (optional)
Instructions
Preparation
Pound the chicken breasts to an even 1-inch thickness using a meat mallet. Season both sides of the chicken with salt and pepper.
Searing the Chicken
In a skillet over medium-high heat, melt 1 tablespoon of butter and add olive oil. Add the chicken and sear on each side until golden brown, about 4-5 minutes per side. Remove the chicken to a plate and set aside.
Making the Sauce
Reduce the heat to low and add the remaining butter to the skillet. Stir in the flour and cook for about one minute.
Pour in the chicken broth, scraping up the browned bits stuck to the pan. Then add the milk, sour cream, onion powder, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, and ranch seasoning mix. Stir until fully combined.
Combining Chicken and Sauce
Place the chicken and any juices from the plate back into the pan. Spoon the creamy sauce over the chicken. Let it simmer until the chicken is heated through and the sauce thickens a bit.
Serving
Dish out the chicken and sauce and garnish with fresh parsley if desired. Enjoy hot!
Notes
Do not overcook the chicken. Use low sodium products for a healthier dish. Adjust ingredients for a lighter version.
